Invitation

Dear colleagues,

On the behalf of the Organizing Committee and Local Organizing Committee, we cordially invite you to attend the 24th International Conference on Photochemical Conversion and Storage of Solar Energy (IPS-24) under the joint sponsorship of the International Conference on Artificial Photosynthesis-2024 (ICARP2024). The Conference will be held at The International Conference Center Hiroshima (ICCH), Japan, from July 28 to August 2 2024.

Specifically, topics of interest include but are not limited to:

  • Photoelectrochemical conversion and photodevices
  • Photocatalysis and photochemical reactions
  • Emerging photovoltaics (perovskite solar cells, dye-sensitized solar cells, OPV, and QD’s)
  • Artificial photosynthesis and natural photosynthesis
  • Biofuels from photosynthesis and biomass energy
  • Energy storage materials, devices and applications (battery and hydrogen production)
  • Molecular and biomimetic photosystems
  • Small molecular activation for solar energy storage

The IPS has a long history since 1974 (Boston, Massachusetts, USA), and the IPS conference series has been held in more than 20 cities worldwide, attracting 600-800 participants. This IPS-24 is the third IPS conference held in Japan (1984 Osaka and 2002 Sapporo). The IPS conferences have offered and offers a versatile platform to discuss the latest advances in renewable energy and storage research and enhance regional and international collaborations. The ICARP conference series of which main target is artificial photosynthesis and has been hosted by Consortium of All Nippon Artificial Photosynthesis Project for Living Earth (CanApple) and Innovation for Light-Energy Conversion (I4LEC) project, were held three times in Japan since 2014. We hope that this cosponsorship contributes to increase the activities in this important research fields for human beings.

The City of Hiroshima has been promoting an urban development with the image of an "International City of Peace and Culture" in order to create a community that is open to the world. The International Conference Center Hiroshima stands in Hiroshima's sacred Peace Memorial Park. The IPS-24 and ICARP2024 will welcome scientists, engineers, and students from all over the world to enrich their knowledge, interact to discuss new ideas, and foster new collaborations and partnerships. The program will include a combination of the plenary, keynote, invited, contributing talks, and poster presentations in a meeting that will bring a broad spectrum of the community together to discuss the latest advances in energy conversion and storage research. The conference will have a scientific and social program over six full days.

Consortium of CanApple also organize another two-days symposium for students and young scientists in the field of artificial photosynthesis on just before IPS-24 and ICARP2024 (27-28 July). We hope that many "next-generation" members in this field will join this mini symposium from all over the world.

We are looking forward to your participation.
